With Paul W.S Anderson back on board to direct “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” the fourth film in the franchise and Milla Jovavaich set to reprise her role as the Alice, casting is underway as the films get ready to start shooting in Toront next month.

Most recently on his Twitter page, Bodjoe Kodjoe revealed that he was cast in the film.

In speaking exclusively with Blackfilm.com about his latest film, ‘Surrogates,’ which stars Bruce Willis and opens in theaters on Sept. 25, Kodjoe revealed more about his role in ‘Resident,’ along with some plot details and mentioned other cast members in the film, including Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter, who played Claire Redfield in 2007’s ‘Resident Evil: Extinction.’

Boris Kodjoe: I play the leader of the survivors in LA. Milla Jovovich’s character, Alice, is roaming the world looking for survivors and she’s wound up in LA, which has been burning for three years. She comes across an LA jail surrounded be these half-dead, uhh…

Zombies?

Boris Kodjoe: Yeah, they’re those monsters, what are they called? Anyway, she comes across the jail and there’s a couple of survivors and she lands on top of the roof and partners up with me to fight the guys that are coming after them. We’re trying to get all of the survivors out of the jail to safety. We’re starting next week, actually.

Were you a fan of the franchise?

Boris Kodjoe: Yeah I saw the first one which I thought was interesting. I really adore and respect her, and also Paul W.S Anderson, who is the director. He’s married to her, and he’s a tremendous visionary, he’s got all these great ideas. What I like most about him is that he’s so excited about what he does. He really loves his job. That always goes a long way, because when you go to work with a smile on your face the outcome can only be positive. I love working with people who like what they do. He’s definitely one of those guys. He led me around the studio when I was out there to meet with them. He’s got it all worked out. He’s working with them making new cameras that James Cameron’s partner developed for “Avatar”. All this stuff plays into this movie making it an experience I’m looking forward to.

With Milla back and Paul Anderson directing the movie do you know if any of the characters from the previous movies will be back as well?

Boris Kodjoe: It’s gonna be Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, I’m the new one, and Wentworth Miller is also in the movie. He’s the lead in “Prison Break”.

Is he another survivor?

Boris Kodjoe: Yes. He’s playing a guy that we actually locked up when we took over the jail because we weren’t sure if he was one of them or not. He comes into play as we try to find a way to get out with our survivors.
Can’t wait, hopefully they finally make one at least as good as the first. :cool; Apocalypse kinda sucked and Extinction was decent until the end, but the end counts for everything to me.

Extinction was a good zombie movie as long as the story doesn’t go all super crazy this could be too.

Don’t exactly have any high hopes with it.

Sheva or GTFO.
